Political analyst Ambrose Weda has said that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga still stands a chance of realizing his long-time presidential ambition.

This follows his four futile bids previously, the latest one being two years ago when he controversially lost to President Uhuru Kenyatta, before successfully petitioning the outcome.

But Weda says that he can still achieve the dream, but only through embracing other leaders and reducing the number of enemies, apparently referring to his ongoing fights with Deputy President William Ruto and his allies.

He also advised Raila to seek advice from those who have been presidents before, and get the tutorial on what he needs to do if he is to avoid another loss in the future.

"If he wants to be the president he should embrace people. Let him speak to people who have won the presidency," he advised.

Weda, also a lawyer and a former Chair of the SONY Sugar board made the remarks during an interview in KBC English Service's "The Big Conversation" on Wednesday morning.

He warned the former Prime Minister against continued politicking and political declarations, including his recent warning of looming tsunami which will badly brutalize Ruto's allies politically.

He said that such are only worsening the situation for him.

"He should stop such, why is Uhuru (President Uhuru Kenyatta)not speaking in that manner?" he wondered.

Though Ruto's allies have since predicted another Raila candidature in 2022, he has remained silent on his plans, urging leaders to concentrate on service delivery for now.
