According to a post on Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owini's Facebook page, the students will be allowed back to school on condition that they write a letter to the University of Nairobi Vice-chancellor requesting to continue with their studies.

According to the MP, the decision was reached following a phone conversation between him and the University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor on Thursday.

“Education is a fundamental human right envisaged in the Apex of that law that is Constitution. No one should be denied this right,” Owino noted.

The vocal MP further said that the University of Nairobi VC has agreed to forgive all the students who allegedly contravened the university rules and regulations.

He promised to work with other universities too to ensure that students who have been expelled from the universities continue with their studies.
