Popular Kenyan musician Akothee on Thursday pleaded to her fans through her Instagram page to assist the family of a young sick woman to raise money for her treatment.
Akothee who shared the video of the family seeking help appreciated the mother of the girl for opening up and being a strong single mother.
She further asked her over one million followers on Instagram to contribute whatever small amount they had as it would go a long way in helping the young girl get proper medication.
"Thank you mama kayayi for sharing this, I would love to hug this single mother in soo much pain. In the meantime lets all contribute towards her daughters well being, giving is from the heart. Whatever small you have is what your fellow needs (kutoa ni moyo. Hicho kidogo ndicho mwenzako anahitaji)," Akothee wrote on her Instagram page.
In the video, Sofia Mohamed who is the mother of 21-year-old Heiba Mohamed states her daughter has been suffering from asthma for five years.
"My name is Sofia Mohamed. I'm Heiba's mother. She is the only daughter, single parent. She's been suffering from asthma for five years," Sofia Mohamed narrated.
The single mother also added that her daughter had now developed other diseases such as diabetes.
Heiba notes she was studying law but was forced to bring her education to a halt after her health deteriorated.
