Political analyst Martin Andati now says that the letter being investigated with relations to Deputy President William Ruto's reported assassination claims might have some effect on Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri.
In the letter dated May 30 and addressed to President Uhuru Kenyatta, a Cabinet Secretary is purportedly claiming that his colleagues from the Mt Kenya region have been holding meetings with the intention of plotting to eliminate the DP.
The blame has since landed on CSs Peter Munya (Trade) Sicily Kariuki (Health), Joe Mucheru (ICT), and James Macharia (Transport), who have accepted holding meetings, but with positive intentions.
Andati now says that the letter might have been intending to portray Kiunjuri, the only CS from the region who was absent for the meeting, in a certain way since it demonstrates that he could have been the author.
However, he noted that the letter, just as the investigative bodies have said, is fake and unreliable, and was most likely the job of Ruto's bloggers whom he said appear idle.
"Ukiangalia hii barua ambayo wanaitumia kama basis, mawaziri kutoka Mt Kenya ni watano na Kiunjuri tu ndiye hakuwepo. Na pia inasemekana aliyeita mkutano huu uliitwa na Kibicho ambaye ni mkuu wa usalama. Inaonekana wale mablogger wa Ruto hawana kazi sasa," he said on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Monday.
This translates to; "Judging by the letter being used as the basis, Mt Kenya has 5 ministers, and only Kiunjuri was absent. It also says that the meeting was convened by Interior PS Karanja Kibicho, who is a security chief. It seems Ruto's bloggers are idle."
Andati also noted that the DP could be faking all of this for political purposes.
"Pengine ameona joto la kisiasa limepanda sana (maybe he has realized that the political temperatures are going too high)," he added.
