The residents of Nyamira county have raised concerns to the KPL officials in the county to take a stun action to the local men who are conning the Kenya power clients in the name of officials and field inspectors from the company.
Residents claim that the fraudsters have been conning the residents for a lot of time now.
They said the fraudsters normally call the clients and tell them to clear their bills through their phones and not the KPLC pay bills.
They then realize they have been conned once the Kenya power officials arrive at the homes of the clients with an order of disconnection.
Speaking on Friday at a funeral service at Borioba village in Magwagwa ward, the residents termed this tendency as a crime.
However, they said that this act will only be eliminated once the fraudsters are tamed and be made to face the full face of the planet law.
"I strongly condemn this act of conning struggling residents of the county and taking their money in unreasonable ways. I call Upon Kenya power Company officials from the head office of the county to work with the DCI to ensure that all this are brought to the side of the law to face it." said elder Samwel Kiriago.
He was echoed by the area chief Thomas Maraga that he will stimulate the DCI to take faster actions in collaboration with the KPL company to cub those men who are feeding the sweat of the hardworking Kenyans.
"This is not a simple issue because people are feeding easily on the sweats of hardworking and struggling Citizens of the Republic of Kenya. I promise we must bring them to the field." said the are chief Maraga.
