A section of Members of Parliament from the Mt. Kenya region has reaffirmed their support to Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
Speaking at Chepsaita, Turbo constituency during the burial of Deputy President William Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet's father on Friday, the MPs led by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Njuguna Kiharu ( Olkalau) and Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu) said the vote-rich regions' support for the DP is 100 per cent.
They further declared that Ruto's bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is unstoppable.
“The way you cannot prevent rain from raining, you cannot prevent Ruto from being president. 2022 has a presidential candidate which is William Ruto, therefore, others should try in 2032,” said Nyoro.
“We know and we are sure that come 2022 our next president is William Samoei Ruto and we will support him fully,” added Olkalau MP.
The legislators vowed to campaign for the DP in the region so as to help him occupy the State House.
They also fired a warning shot at those eyeing to face Ruto in 2022 with Ichungwa saying, “Those who want to compete with Ruto in 2022 should put their house in order as we will support him until he becomes the President."
