Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Barrack Muluka has taken issue with President Uhuru Kenyatta fo state of the nation address on Thursday.
In his speech at the parliament, Uhuru noted that the government is on the right track on matters economy building, and added that the economy is steadily growing.
But in a rejoinder, Muluka now claims that Uhuru missed Kenyans on the issue, forgetting that Kenyans are an intelligent lot that can openly see that the same is not the case.
"You cannot say that the economy is doing well when the physical indicators we see are telling us a different story," Muluka who doubles up as a political commentator said.
He was speaking on NTV's AM Live show on Friday morning, also attended by fellow commentator and university lecturer Herman Manyora.
Muluka cited the biting famine in some parts of the nation as proof that the economy is in shambles, with reports indicating that some have since died due to starvation.
"We are talking about a country where people are dying because of hunger and you tell us that all is well? While at the same time food security is one of your main agendas?" he posed.
He as well lashed out at Uhuru for failing to give the hunger issue any much concern in his address, despite it being on of the four major issues he vowed to tackle in his second term.
