The locals while speaking on Wednesday at Magombo market protested increased cases of insecurity in the area.

"Mariba should order police officers to intensify security patrols especially at night because criminals have been taking advantage of darkness to terrorize residents," said a resident, Eric Nyaboga.

Steve Ombui protested that since Mariba replaced the former commissioner Isaiah Nakoru,  insecurity has increased.

Ombui claimed that police officers have slept on their job.

"We have been forgotten in matters security. The County Commissioner should intervene to ensure security is beefed up day and night and keep off criminals," said Ombui.

Ezekiel Okeyo, a trader at Magombo market accused police officers of failing in their job

He regretted that traders pay daily revenue to government which in return facilitate for the security officers' salaries.

"Commissioner Mariba needs to know those police officers working under him are not doing enough to boost security in Magombo," said Okeyo.

In a quick rejoinder, Mariba assured residents that security patrols day and night will be intensified henceforth.

"There is no cause for alarm because I have instructed police officers to be alert and curb criminal activities," noted Mariba.
