ODM's mega rally in Kibra constituency on Sunday was momentarily disrupted when brother to the late Ken Okoth, Imran Okoth was introduced.
The crowd shouted down Imran ordering him to vacate the podium.
Raila’s Communication Director, Dennis Onyango, had promised that the party will introduce those eying the seat to Kibra residents. Unfortunately, Imran was not given a chance to be heard.
“The party leader will introduce to the residents those who want to have the ODM ticket. The aspirants will then be given time to articulate their agenda for the constituency,” Onyango said.
The Kamukunji grounds rally was meant to give hopefuls a chance to meet constituents and articulate their promises ahead of nominations.
"We shall this Sunday at Kamkunji grounds unveil all our aspirants to Kibra voters at a rally where they will be given a chance to address the electorate. We invite Kibera residents to the rally #MbelePamoja," ODM posted on Twitter.
Okoth succumbed to colorectal cancer in July barely a month after returning from France where he was receiving treatment.
