A number of Kenyan social media users have applauded Kiambu Members of County Assembly (MCAs) for passing a motion to impeach Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
Reports from Citizen Digital indicate that 63 out of the 92 MCAs voted for the motion.
Although the fate of Governor Waititu still lies with the Senate, Kenyan netizens seem to have entered in a celebratory mood already.
A section of the netizens claimed it was high time the governor, who had been barred from accessing his office by the court, was shown the door.
They argued that Waititu had not displayed responsible leadership as it was expected from a county boss, citing that the graft case against him was incriminating.
Some of the netizens took the moment to reflect on where the rain started beating Governor Waititu. According to a group of netizens, Governor Waititu might have been blinded in supporting some of the top politicians in the country.
The netizens also raised the question of the priorities of the electorate during elections with some claiming voters should be the ones to be blamed for the bad leadership.
