Ahmed Kolosh, a candidate in the Wajir West by-election has called on residents to remain calm and peaceful ahead of the Thursday mini-poll.
Kolosh also wants registered voters to come out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right by voting.
In a phone interview on Sunday, Kolosh exuded confidence of clinching back the parliamentary seat that was snatched from him when the Supreme Court nullified his victory in the 2017 general election.
According to Kolosh, the Supreme Court erred by anulling his victory which he maintains was free and fair.
But the former lawmaker says he has another chance to prove his critics wrong by clinching the by-election.
"My call and appeal is to Wajir West residents to come out and vote on Thursday to enable us continue the development agenda we had started," he said on phone.
Kolosh said he had iniatitaed key development projects under the funding of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) before his election was nullified.
The former MP at the same time defended his move to ditch the Raila Odinga led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to join Jubilee Party.
"My decision to quit ODM and join Jubilee was independent, nobody influenced me as it has been speculated in the media," he said.
Kolosh added that he does not regret having quit the Orange Party noting it was in the best interest of Wajir West people.
"I realilzed that my people also needed to get and enjoy the development projects being initiated by the Jubilee government," he said.
Kolosh has been taunted as the favorite to clinch the by-election.
Two weeks ago, professor Mohames Yusuf Elmi of ODM, Abbas Nunow of Agano Party and Ali Noor of Labour Party of Kenya withdrew their candidature from the by-election in support of Kolosh.
Kolosh's main rival in the race is Ibrahim Sheikh who is flying the KANU party ticket.
According to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commisison (IEBC), there are 27,544 registered voters in Wajir West distributed in 75 polling stations.
