Ruto is currently considered one of the front runners in the much anticipated race, after making it clear that he will indeed be in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

However, the former Subukia lawmaker now warns that the DP might never realize the dream, courtesy of his pride and arrogance, and will have to either change or prepare for defeat

"Kama Ruto ni kweli anapanga kuwania, itambidi ajifunze unyenyekevu," he said.

(He will have to learn to be humble if he indeed is planning to vie for the presidency)

The former Assistant Cabinet Minister was speaking on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche show on Saturday evening.

He cautioned Ruto against depending on his hustler narrative to propel him to power, advising him that being from a poor background is not a qualification for the presidency.

"Kutoka katika nyumba maskini sio thibitisho kwamba atakuwa rais, asifikirie kwamba atachaguliwa maana anatoka katika familia ya kimaskini," he cautioned.

(He should stop thinking that being from a poor family will make his president).

Ruto who revealed that he was a chicken vendor has since allocated himself the hustler tag, a narrative he has been using to appeal to Kenyans, most of who fall out of the rich bracket.

He has also found himself in trouble repeatedly for having a loose tongue, thanks to his attacks on his political rivals, especially opposition leader Raila Odinga.
