DP William Ruto’s spouse Rachel Ruto has commended the church for the role it has continued to play towards societal transformation.
Speaking on Saturday at ACK Good Shepherd Cathedral Nakuru where she was the chief guest during a fundraiser for the Mothers’ Union Rally, Rachel said the church has continued to contribute towards women’s development in society.
While citing the various projects that the church has rolled out, Mrs Ruto, who has a passion for women empowerment programs, reiterated her commitment to continue working with women towards their empowerment.
She also called on the church to continue praying for the nation so that peace can continue to be witnessed in all the counties.
“You do a lot of work in transforming the society through the various women projects and we shall continue to partners and support such initiatives that help transform the society and the nation,” she said.
ACK Nakuru Diocese Mothers’ Union President Deaconess Mary Muchai also commended the women who have continued to play a key role in the various church projects and urged them to continue praying for the church, families and the nation.
“We have seen the great hand of God throughout last year as far as our projects are concerned,” she said.
ACK Nakuru Diocesan Bishop Rev Joseph Muchai decried the high number of suicide cases in the society.
He said that is an indicator that many young people are undergoing challenges in life hence the church and parents should step in and ensure it ends.
“As a church, we have a very big responsibility to ensure some of these vices are dealt with beginning with our youths,” said Rev Muchai.
