Security has been tightened in Mandera after a suspected Al-Shabaab attack was foiled on Monday night.
According to North Eastern Police Regional Commander Paul Soi, the suspected Al-Shabaab militants were repulsed after they tried to attack Dabacity Police Camp in Mandera.
Mr Soi says the suspected attackers were repulsed by General Service Unit (GSU) officers.
According to police, a group of suspected Al-Shabaab attackers tried to storm the police camp at 8 PM on Monday night.
"We are still gathering details of what happened and we will update as soon as we compile them," he told journalists in Mandera Town on Tuesday.
Mr Soi indicated that no one was injured in the attempted attack.
Mandera is among counties in North Eastern region that has in the recent years been hit with deadly terror attacks.
