In 2016, rumors emerged that Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has Luo's blood. The speculations were rife until the Maendeleo Chap Chap's mother, Agnes Mutua came out and set the records straight. This is after the then Central Alego MCA Leonard Oriaro said Mutua’s father’s name is Habil Otieno Lut from Kalenjuok village in his ward.
Oriaro said the governor was free to contest for the Siaya gubernatorial seat in any election.
The mother, however, dismissed the claims terming them malicious.
“I have only two children and their father is alive. He is my husband whose patience may be badly provoked by politicians running out of their senses," Agnes said.
"Mutua has been government's spokesman for a long time and I wonder where such closets were kept,” she added.
Mutua’s aunt got married to the late Maj. John Luttson from Siaya County.
Mutua has since risen to be one of the most powerful politicians in the country.
He has already hinted at contesting for Presidency before the next general polls.
Mutua is considered one of the leaders who have what it takes to ascend to power.
He has also been very vocal when it comes to matters of national interests.
Mutua is among the politicians who have been warning others against corruption.
