Speaking at Makima village in Embu County, Kalonzo said that the victims deserve to be compensated over the losses they suffered after the breakout of clashes.

He noted that the disagreement between the residents of Mbeere, Embu, Kamba and Kirinyaga is likely to threaten peace unless it is addressed in good time.

The former Vice-President laid a wreath at the grave of Kennedy Muvevi Mutua, one of the victims of the clashes.

“The commission, if established, will carry out investigations and identify the genuine land owners so that our people do not continue dying,” he said.

He also said that he was going to organise a meeting with the Attorney-General to ensure that the matter is solved as soon as possible. He also reminded police they are supposed to protect the public and not killing.

He further assured victims of clashes that the matter is under investigations and soon they will get justice over the same.

“I will pursue the matter with the Attorney-General to ensure all the victims are compensated,” he said.
