Medics have been advising people to take precautionary measures to prevent contracting the killer illness.

Deaths arising from this deadly disease are on the rise with many people now believing that cancer is more deadly than HIV/AIDS.

Mercy Chepkirui, 44, a resident of Kesses constituency in Uasin Gishu county is a victim of this deadly disease.

She has suffered from breast cancer for over 6 years now.

In an interview with hivisasa.com on Saturday, Mercy narrated her ordeal amid tears and pain,

"I have been struggling with breast cancer for over 6 years now, I had one of my breast mutilated but a tumour soon spread to the other breast. Life has been full of pain, sorrows and tears. I have visited hospitals and used the money until am now broke. I am feeling real pain such that sleeping is a nightmare. I have lost hope and my dreams are now no more," Mercy narrated painfully, with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I wish this was HIV because I could control it but this is so painful, my husband left me with little kids but God knows," she added.

However, it is understood that cancer can easily be contained if discovered at its earlier stages.
