Governor Ali Korane says he intends to use the funds to elevate the Garissa Vocational Training Centre to an ultra-modern innovation hub with well equipped lecture halls and a laboratory. In realizing the dream come true, Korane has sought the help of experts from as far as USA.

“I have shared this idea with experts in USA who will be coming by June to help us fully operationalize the centre,” Governor Korane said.

Korane was speaking at a Garissa hotel during one of the Amuka programmes sponsored by YADEN and KESHO organisations.

At the same time, Governor Korane expressed concerns that at least 68 percent of kids who have attained minimum age are yet to join primary schools.

As a long term intervention, Korane added, his administration was tirelessly working towards realizing a functioning and sustainable program that would accomodate all school drop outs in bid to make them self reliant.
