Orange Democratic Movement party has out a spirited fight against what it terms as DP William Ruto's 'encroachment' in the vote rich Gusii region.
Party treasurer Timothy Bosire insisted that the numerous trips by the DP will yield 'nothing, adding that locals are not ready to be hoodwinked with fake projects.
"You have seen him move around chest thumping about development. Have you really seen those projects kick off? He's taking advantage to cheat gullible voters.
"I want to remind him that these trips will backfire. They will yield nothing and that's a guarantee. And in any case, this is an ODM zone," said Bosire on Sunday at Nyansiongo Parish.
Ruto has made a record eleven trips jointly to Kisii and Nyamira Counties with his latest coming a week ago at the region.
A day earlier, Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya traversed Nyamira County where he vowed to block Ruto's team from elbowing the party from the region.
"We are revamping and uniting party members. Those making aimless trips will be shocked. We are determined to rejuvenate the party's dominance."
