The multi-billion shilling Ruaraka land scandal involving top city businessman Francis Mburu who claims ownership has taken a new twist.
Mburu who is at the center of investigation into the controversial Sh1.5 Billion payments now claims that four senators allegedly approached him demanding Sh100 million to write a favorable report.
The city businessman alleges that the unnamed senators acting on behalf of others approached him promising to help him if he gave out the money.
In a dossier in form of rerecorded tapes handed to Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the senators are said to be part of the senate committee that has been probing the controversial payment of 1.5 Billion to Mburu.
The city businessman claims that he declined to hand give out the money since he is innocent.
“The four senators claimed that the money was for the committee to enable them write a favorable report on the probe," he said.
Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti on Sunday confirmed that the businessman had reported the bribery allegations.
