James Mogaka the kiosk owner said it was at 10 pm when the thugs broke into his kiosk to steal.

"I closed the kiosk at 9:40 pm on Tuesday night to go home to rest. Luckily I returned at 10 pm to pick a coat I had left in the kiosk only to find the door of the kiosk down," he said.

Mr. Mogaka said he mobilized locals who stormed the kiosk and found the thieves busy packing items.

"The thugs threatened to slash us before they escaped into darkness in a maize farm never to be seen. They managed to steal Sh7,000 I had left in the kiosk," he revealed.

Kisii commander Martin Kibet said the thugs are being traced to Ramasha.

"Local youths who have joined gang groups to terrorize residents won't be condoned. The thugs who could not be identified immediately because they had covered their faces with masks are being traced to Ramasha to be arrested," he noted.

He urged the public to cooperate with police to ease the arrest of thugs.
