Aga Khan University Hospital has applauded Nairobi County Government and Governor Mike Sonko in collaborating with the hospital's management team to ensure services at the hospital were restored after disruption by floods.

"We wish to thank the Governor of Nairobi, H. E. Mike Mbuvi Sonko and his Team, our Staff and the entire Hospital Leadership that moved in swiftly to ensure that there were no casualties and that all services were restored in the shortest time possible." reads the hospital's message in part.

In a post shared on the governor's Facebook page, the hospital lauded the efforts done in the draining the water that had found its way into the clinical areas of the hospital and averted any additional flow into the hospital's precincts. 

"The hospital's maintenance team assisted by a team from the Nairobi County Government, worked in concert to drain the water that had found its way into the clinical areas of the hospital and averted any additional flow into the hospital's precincts," reads the post in part.

He later confirmed that the emergency response was activated to ensure safety.

"We have activated our emergency response protocols to ensure the safety of all patients, staff and visitors also to see to it that there is minimal disruption of operations."

In a Facebook post on 28th of August, the governor posted a certain analysis from the meteorological department indicating there will be heavy rainfall in parts of Nairobi ranging between 50-100mm. 

He later cautioned residents to remain steady and in case of emergencies, he provided a hotline number.
