Confirming the incidence, Nyandarua county police commander Gideon Ngumi said they found the head which belongs to the deceased Teresia Wanjiru, Daily Nation reports.

Wanjiru was allegedly killed by husband and her body dumped without her head.

Her body was found two months ago dumped in a pit latrine of an abandoned nursery school compound.

Residents in Kipipiri accused the husband of the inhumane act. On realizing people were looking after him, the husband went into hiding.

However, residents traced him to Gilgil where they gave him a dogs beating until he died.

“Wanjiru was in an abusive marriage. Her husband was a drug addict and was also a suspected thief," said Samson Karanja, a village elder as quoted by Daily Nation

After the head was found, Karanja requested the police to give them the head so that they can bury it.

The police having no case to follow up with the head since the body of the woman and that of her husband had been buried, released the head for burial.

"We had no reason to detain or take it to the mortuary since we have no one to prosecute with the murder,” Ngumi said.
