The eight are reportedly said to have been killed by Al-Shabaab militants.

In a tweet on Friday evening, Raila condoled with the bereaved families and termed the attack as 'cowardly'.

"My condolences go out to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives in a cowardly terrorist attack in Kutulo, Wajir County. I urge the security agencies to bring those responsible to book. We must stand strong against extremists and not let them divide us," Raila tweet read.

Orengo, on the other hand, through a statement on his Facebook page called for unity among Kenyans during this period of mourning.

"Saddened by the death of fellow Kenyans through a terrorist attack in Kutulo, Wajir county. We must be united as Kenyans against extremist behaviours and condemn it in the strongest terms possible," Orengo's Facebook post read.

It is alleged that the suspected Al-Shabaab militants stopped a bus that was headed to Mandera from Wajir before profiling the passengers into non-locals and locals. They set free the locals and executed the non-locals.
