Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i on Tuesday showed his other life, praying for candidates sitting for Kenya Certificate for Primary Education exams.
For the better part of the day, Dr Matiang'i, who served in the education docket few years ago, inspected several institutions around Gilgil.
In the video, the outspoken minister prayed for success of the pupils, a rare incident from a top ranking goverment official.
"I have supervised the opening of an exam container at the Gilgil DCC's office. I thereafter Encouraged candidates at Gilgil DBE and Gilgil Garrison Primary Schools and wished them the best. Security for the exam and those engaged has been effectively deployed," he said.
Afterwards, Dr Matiang'i confronted NYS officials for failing to complete a classroom before time. He instructed for immediate relocation of students.
The career civil servant called for honesty and integrity in administering of the exams which are set to be concluded on Thursday.
"We have an obligation to support our children and inculcate in them integrity, truthfulness, and honesty among other moral values," he said.
"Administration of credible KCPE exams is one of the platforms for us to demonstrate our commitment to meeting this obligation."
At his backyard in Nyamira, Dr Matiang'i is a staunch member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. He has been recorded leading church choirs in the past.
