Minutes after having a meeting with Uhuru at Central Kenya Regional Commissioner's residences, Uhuru declined the MPs plans to accompany him for a public rally in Nyeri town and opening of Karatina market.

Instead, Uhuru only allowed leaders from Nyeri to accompany him to the tour, an indication that he's tired with persistent politicking by the leaders from his home turf.

“Hii ingine ni maneno ya Nyeri kwa hivyo tutaenda na viongozi wa Nyeri (The rest is about Nyeri affairs and therefore we will go with Nyeri leaders),” the President is reported to have told the forum before he left.

During the meeting, a source told the Nation, Uhuru also scolded Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto over his persistent appearance in media to discuss succession politics.

“Venye naweza kukuambia ni kwamba Kuria alisomewa sana (What I can tell you is that Kuria was lectured thoroughly),” said a source in the meeting.

The source added: “He told us his agenda is development and he will have a voice on succession politics. He also cautioned us against concentrating more on politics at the expense of development."https://mobile.nation.co.ke/news/politics/Uhuru-censure-of-MPs-punctures-Ruto-s-forays-in-Mt-Kenya/3126390-4835628-item-1-qktw7i/index.html.

The latest attitude by the President has reportedly scared Central Kenya legislators with some said to be contemplating quitting William Ruto's tours.
