Deputy President William Ruto will be left alone opposing the referendum being pushed by the ODM party leader Raila Odinga, an MP has claimed.
Kitutu Chache MP, Richard Onyonka while speaking on Wednesday during a radio interview at Egesa FM reiterated that Ruto would not succeed in opposing the referendum.
"DP Ruto should consider supporting the referendum because after all, he may end up being abandoned by his allies to oppose the referendum alone. This is the right time DP Ruto must accept the referendum," he said.
The vocal legislator insisted that the referendum is part of the agreement NASA leader Raila Odinga reached during the historic handshake.
According to the MP, Ruto has already been abandoned by President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the 2022 general election.
"Ruto must forget Uhuru's support in 2022 because the referendum will see Raila vying for the presidency, and without a doubt, he (Raila) shall win the election," he noted.
The Ford Kenya party MP said the move by a section of Jubilee MPs to support the referendum is a clear indication that Ruto is in hot soup and can't succeed his boss in 2022.
