A section of Kisii county residents have reacted following President Uhuru Kenyatta's latest appointment.
According to the angry locals, the Head of State could have appointed a youthful person to be a board member at the Sports, Arts and Culture instead of appointing former Vice President Moody Awori.
"Awori is old enough to be given peace. It is shocking that President Uhuru settled on the 91-year-old Awori instead of appointing someone who is young to champion for talent nurturing in this country," said a furious Daraja Mbili trader Abel Mogaka.
Peter Ondigi warned Mr. Uhuru against appointing ageing people to government yet there are learned young people who should take up the leadership roles in this country.
"There is no way Uhuru will be prioritizing old people and awarding them jobs in his government yet we have qualified young people. Let him recall the appointment," he said.
Timothy Ogugu, an elected MCA in Kisii County wondered why Mr. Kenyatta is giving priority to old people.
"Awori should be given humble time to enjoy his old age in peace. Uhuru should recall his appointment immediately," said the Magenche ward MCA.
