Former Kitutu Masaba MP hopeful has weighed in on the ongoing referendum debate.
Speaking on Tuesday, Victor Swanya said the referendum should not benefit only a few individuals in the country.
Ogeto argued that the common mwananchi should also have a say in the referendum to ensure it benefits them.
"Poor Kenyans should not be used as a bridge by politicians to purposely pass the referendum and be dumped. The referendum must benefit every Kenyan and not only a few families," he said.
He said the changes being proposed by NASA leader Raila Odinga should not be aimed at creating posts for aged leaders who should retire from active politicians.
"Despite the fact that I am in opposition, I will not stop articulating on issues which will benefit the people of Kitutu Masaba, Nyamira County and all Kenyans as a whole. The constitution should not be amended because of a few people's selfish interests," said the vocal Wiper politician.
Swanya challenged politicians to put the interests of Kenyans first, arguing that the government must tame corruption for development to be realised.
He said youthful leaders who have been given an opportunity to lead should stop embezzling public funds with an aim of enriching themselves.
