Nakuru County MCAs have been challenged to offer smart solutions to problems facing Nakuru people and avoid bragging over zero performances. The challenge was thrown during Ndititimurano, a live show by Kameme TV hosted at Waterbuck Hotel in Nakuru Town.
This was followed after claim by the Nakuru County Assembly majority leader Moses Ndung’u, who is also the MCA for Elementaita ward in Gilgil, that the current house has the most organised and dedicated representatives.
“The current house has some of the most educated compared to the last one led by Dr Mbae the MCA for Kabazi ward,” the majority leader had said.
However, a resident from Njoro sub-county told the MCAs that it made no sense for them to claim that their government is the most educated while they had nothing to prove.
“It is ironic that you claim that the house has the most educated but we are seeing nothing from that. We expect to see smart solutions to our problems and not the usual politicking and blame games we’ve been seeing,” said the resident.
The MCAs also came under fire from former Naivasha MP John Mututho.
Mututho who is currently the proprietor of John Mututho Education Center (JOMEC), faulted the MCAs for not urgently addressing the issue of the street boys who were dumped in Chemasus forest last month.
“We have had 22 senators representing four Senate committees led by Senator Susan Kihika visit the children at JOMEC. MPs David Gikaria, Kimani Ngunjiri, Samuel Arama and Samuel Gachobe have also been there. Unfortunately, only one MCA has been to JOMEC about this issue,” said Mututho.
On the same issue, the residents loudly faulted the MCAs for refusing to support a motion by one of them when he brought it to the floor of the house.
“It is such a shame that only 7 MCAs supported the motion to find justice for the children,” said Kimani wa Kimani, a KANU leader in Nakuru Town.
