Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament Richard Onyonka has been endorsed to run for Kisii county governor seat in 2022.
A section of mourners led by Omingo Magara who attended the burial of David Tamaro Abuya, the proprietor of Tabaka Academy at Tabaka Ward, in South Mugirango Constituency where MP Onyonka was also present said the MP deserves the big seat when the time comes.
"We have no doubt that MP Onyonka will perform as the governor in 2022. As the people of South Mugirango we will not be left behind and we, therefore, endorse MP Onyonka for the top seat," said the former area MP Omingo Magara.
Mr Magara said he will mobilize locals to rally behind MP Onyonka since he will also be running for the Kisii senator seat.
Another mourner John Ombui reiterate that need for MP Onyonka to take over from Governor James Ongwae.
"MP Onyonka's leadership has been proven because he has also been vocal speaking on matters concerning the people of Kisii. The people of South Mugirango hereby endorses him for the top seat," said Ombui.
The MP who addressed mourners said he will not let the people of Kisii down once elected as Governor.
