Kamba billionaire Harun Mwau is one of the most influential businessmen in the country.
The tycoon was once linked to drug trafficking.
A video shared by the then Jicho Pevu’s Mohammed Ali once showed that former Kiambu Governor William Kabago served as Harun Mwau’s driver.
Mwau, however, denied the claims when he was contacted.
He once cried out that former US President Barack Obama wanted him dead following links to drug trafficking.
Mwau said Obama was targeting his multimillion empire.
“Now we are being told that some Kenyans are wanted in Jersey and then before the dust settles, Mwau is being named by President Obama as a drug kingpin. This trend is worrying,” the former Kilome MP said.
He also called upon the government to protect him following the declaration.
“When the president of a powerful state like the US names you negatively, it is not a laughing matter. I have asked my government as a law-abiding citizen to offer me protection,” Mwau said.
Kabogo and Mwau are among the politicians who have been linked to drug trafficking claims.
The two leaders have, however, maintained that they are innocent.
They have remained free after the US and Kenyan government failed to provide evidence against them.
