Kenyans and politicians have been questioning Raila's silence on national matters following his 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Aladwa, a close ally of Raila has asked Kenyans to leave the former primer minister alone.

Speaking on Saturday during an interview on Radio Jambo, the vocal politician argued that Kenyans denied Raila the presidential vote, adding that they should now let him be.

He further argued that Raila has a right to remain silent and support the State after Kenyans accused him of being a hindrance to government discharging its mandate.

"Raila wanted to be this country's president and requested for votes but they denied him. So what do they want him to say now? (Raila alitaka kuwa president wa hii nchi na akaomba kura lakini wakamnyima, sasa wanataka aseme nini?)?" posed the MP.

Aladwa pointed out that some people even called the veteran politician names, for fighting for Kenyans.

According to him, the people who supported President Uhuru's reelection should channel their complains to the Head of State and not Raila, as they never elected him to any position.

"They called him a mad man and a witchdoctor, so what do they now want him to say? Let them leave Raila alone. Let them channel maize flour issues to Uhuru (Walimwita muguruki na mganga, sasa wanataka aseme nini? Waachane na Raila, maswala ya unga waulize Uhuru)," added the parliamentarian.
