The Kenya Meteorological Department has listed areas that are set to be pummeled by heavy rain on Friday.
In a tweet on Thursday, the weatherman named 9 counties and urged Kenyans to be on the lookout for surface water on roads and exercise the necessary precautions to ensure their personal safety.
The capital city of Nairobi is among the counties spared of the heavy rainfall.
The 9 counties are Narok, Laikipia, Nakuru, Baringo, Kajiado, Bomet, Kericho, Kisii, and Migori.
"Here's Friday Weather Outlook
Some heavy rain will continue to affect some parts of Kenya; Narok, Laikipia, Nakuru, Baringo, Kajiado, Bomet, Kericho, Kisii, Migori… So watch out for surface water on some roads," the Kenya Meteorological Department tweet read on Thursday.
"If you are planning to tour some of attractive sites especially Mara, take the necessary precaution & avoid flooding areas," the department added.
Heavy rainfall in various parts of the country a few weeks ago caused deaths and destruction of property.
In previous alerts, the government urged those living in areas prone to landslides that are triggered by heavy rainfall to relocate to safer areas.
Most affected in the second half of last year was West Pokot that lost tens of people over floods.
