Remember when Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala went skydiving in Watamu? Well, funnyman Njugush, aka Hezekiah wa Njuguna, as he likes to call himself, decided to give it a shot, and the result was nothing short of hilarious.

Mombasa is home to some of the finest tourist attractions like whale migration, snorkeling, scuba diving kayaking, deep sea fishing, kite surfing, and stand up paddle among others.

Some people may not be too jazzed about water sports, so they’d prefer a breezy romantic and quiet time out by the beach, or a cruise along the calm waters with beautiful island and sunset views.

However, one sporting attraction that has caught the attention of many is skydiving. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea because you’re literally risking it all up in the sky, not knowing what’ll happen while you’re in the air or where you’re going to land after that.

The beauty is, there are experts that can go with you especially for first-timers who have never skydived before and just want a feel of the whole experience, or those who just want to face fear in the eye.

This is just what Njugush did, and he shared with us a piece of daring experience through a video he shared on his Twitter handle. In the clip, Njugush can be seen holding on to his soul while feeding off the enthusiasm of his instructor, otherwise, he’d just be in a delirious state altogether.

Soon it was time to jump, and the instructor and Njugush strapped together inched towards the exit of the plane. It was actually happening! Njugush was about to jump off a plane!

It is at this point that the weight of what was about to happen hits him, he had never been so scared in his life, despite his gusto when he was on his way to board the plane.

He gasped for breath with the wind blowing hard against his face, not quite the most pleasant experience he’d hoped for. The instructor pulled the parachute and they suddenly slowed down mid-air, with Njugush at this point probably holding his heart in his hands.

Finally, they come close to landing and a team of three assistants came to the duo’s rescue. He had landed on the beach, and the ground was more beautiful than ever; they had finally landed back safely onto the serene, sandy beach with Njugush in a state of reverie. He ran off in fear, almost screaming at the top of his lungs.

He can barely recall where he was, because last he checked, he was to end up at the Safaricom Twaweza Live concert experience in Mombasa. But did he? Probably later.

It was a rollercoaster experience for him, but thankfully, the Twaweza Live concert happened and drew in more than 12,000 people who turned up for the huge event.

The star-studded concert featured local stars including some of Kenya’s finest talents such as Mercy Masika, Redsun, Njugush, King Kaka, Nyashinski, Fena Gitu, MC Alemba, and the finest local deejays.

Twaweza Live campaign is putting the creative control as well as opportunities into the hands of Kenyan youth. The campaign is in Kisumu County where the talent hunt continued as the Telco seeks to connect people to opportunities by giving them a platform to showcase their talent.
