Ivy, the sixth-year medicine student at Moi University in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

She was hacked to death by her enraged boyfriend on Tuesday morning outside Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

Otundo said young men should stop resorting to killing their girlfriends when love goes sour.

"I condemn Ivy's death with the strongest terms possible and appeal to young men in relationships to stop killing lovers when love goes sour," she said.

She argued that Wangechi's boyfriend could have used alternative means to solve differences in their relationship instead of hacking to death the beautiful young lady who had a bright future.

"It is high time young people seek counselling and guidance when faced with challenges in love relationships for the sake of bringing to an end unnecessary murders," she stated.

The Gusii Governance Watch secretary-general reiterated the need for young girls to stop going for older men while still in love with young men.

"Our young girls should also stop chasing old men while they are still dating young men. The country is in shock following Ivy's broad daylight murder," she added.
