Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok has spoken after he was replaced as the Deputy Chair of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on Thursday.
In his response, the second term county boss accused the party of breaching the constitution by unconstitutionally ousting him, terming the move primitive.
However, he said that he remains unshaken by the move that the party has since announced as necessary. accusing the Governor of joining Deputy President William Ruto's team.
"ODM can do what it wants. including using the old Kanu tactics of the 70s to 90s but it must not breach its constitution," the county chief said on Friday.
Nanok accused the party and its party leader Raila Odinga of abandoning Turkana region after it voted for him overwhelmingly in 2017.
He said that he has no plans to resign from the party, saying that he will remain put until his term ends in 2022.
"I will remain a member of the party and continue to serve Turkana as an ODM governor till my term concludes in 2022," he added.
The party gave his post to Loima MP Jeremiah Lemorukai, during a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting presided over by Raila in Nakuru.
Nanok has now accused the party of turning Turkanas into voting machines, dismissing his removal as a desperate attempt to retain the region as an ODM bedrock.
His removal is seen as a strategy to punish him after he was seen to lean on Deputy President William Ruto's side in regard to his 2022 presidential ambition.
