World 800 meters champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist David Rudisha says that he nearly died following a tragic accident that involved his car and a bus.
Rudisha, wgk was headed to his Kilgoris home, collided with Ena Coach head-on, leaving his car badly dismembered near Keroka town.
He was almost near the Keroka-Nyangusu junction. Police towed the vehicle to Keroka station and luckily, nobody was injured during the accident.
"Thanking the Almighty God for the gift of life," 800 metres world record holder Rudisha said in a Tweet accompanied by a picture of his mangled car.
"Saturday night around 1030hrs I survived a tragic road accident at Keroka on my way home to Kilgoris after a head-on collision with a bus plying Kisii Nairobi Route.
"I am fine with no injuries! Thank you for your prayers."
Witnesses said that Rudisha's car burst one of the tyres, making him to lost control and subsequently knock the oncoming Ena Coach bus.
He was rushed to Keroka Hospital for emergency treatment by passers by who immediately identified him. He is set to represent Kenya in Tokyo Olympic games.
The accident took place in a infamous black spot bear Keroka town, between Kijauri town center and Keroka. Rudisha comes from Transmara.
