The Bongo Star who works under the largest record label in East and Central Africa, Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) has opened up how he struggled without giving up to be who he is now.
Growing up as Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa, he wanted to become an artiste, precisely a rapper. He started off as rapper where he featured in many local competitions in Tanzania.
He later joined Tip Top Record label before eventually ending up at Diamond Platnumz's WCB. By then, he was still Raymond before his management changed his name to Rayvanny.

His only hope, which probably changed his life, was believing in God that his dreams were valid.
"Success is a dream for those who believe in God. I struggled and believed all will pass. Am not rich nor a millionaire, but I thank God for this position that He gave me. (Mafanikio ni ndoto ya wanaoamini katika mungu. Nilipambana na nikaamini vyote ni vywa kupita. Mimi sio tajiri, mimi sio millionaire, lakini namshukuru mungu kwa nafasi aliyonipa)," said Rayvanny.
Rayvanny is currently highly celebrated in his home country, here in Kenya and East Africa at large. His mega-hit song 'Tetema' went viral across Africa and even beyond.
He has been featured by Kenyan artistes including Willy Paul, Bahati and rapper Khaligraph Jones.
