A teacher at Nyaburu Secondary School has been arrested for allegedly luring a minor and defiling her.
The 11 year old girl is fighting for her life in Kisii Training and Referral Hospital after she was raped by a Nyabururu Secondary teacher on Tuesday.
The girl had been sent by her father to take milk to the neighbourhood but on her return, she met the teacher who lured her with 20 shillings, into a ditch where he defiled her.
The father to the victim Samwel Kerama said that the girl was in a critical condition after the incident and she is fighting for her life in hospital.
"I sent my daughter to take milk to the neighbourhood but when she was coming back with her younger cousin called Matogoro, they met the Nyabururu Secondary teacher. He lured them into a ditch near Calvary Church by giving them 20 shillings. This is where he defiled her," Kerama said.
"When we got there after Matogoro came and told us what happened, we found her in a critical condition. There was blood and she even soiled her clothes. We brought her to the hospital where she is fighting for her life," he added.
According to Kerama, the teacher was posted to Nyabururu recently and has not even received his first salary.
The police arrested the teacher and he is currently in Kisii Police Station as he awaits charges over the defilement offence.
