A 50-year-old man wants justice after his 23-year-old son colluded with other criminals and stole his motorbike on Wednesday night in Bomachabe village, Nyamare in Bonchari, Kisii County.
Abel Gwachi said his son, Geoffrey Ombasa, dropped out of school in form 3 early 2018 and has since joined a criminal gang to steal from residents.
“My son has turned against me he is stealing family property with the help of his gang members. They broke into my house where I keep the motorbike and stole it,” he said.
Gwachi said the son has since gone into hiding fearing arrest.
He said on Sunday morning he wrote him a text message telling him that he stole the motorbike and sold it in Migori County so he should not waste his time searching for it.
“I want authorities to launch a manhunt and ensure he is arrested and be taken t court,” he said.
Area assistant chief Bernard Okemwa Ombasa said the boy will be arrested and forced to produce his gang members before they are taken to court.
He warned local youths against joining gang groups to terrorise residents saying the law will not spare anyone engaging in criminal activities.
