A section of Jubilee women representatives has vowed to shoot down the Building Bridges Initiatives(BBI) if it's meant to create positions for some individuals.
Speaking during the Inua Mama Jenga Taifa Initiative in Uasin Gishu on Saturday they said they will only support it if it will address the challenges affecting Kenyans.
“We cannot allow some individuals sitting in a boardroom and give as a report in the name of BBI to fit some individual. If it will give youths jobs, women empowerment and reduce wage bill we will support ” said Isiolo County Woman Rep Rehema Jaldesa.
“We will only support BBI of it will not create more seats that will increase the wage bill, surely those supporting creation of more seats do you know what Kenyans are going through,” added the Kirinyaga Women Rep Wangui Ngirici.
Trans-Nzoia women representative Janet Nangabo wondered how some politicians are campaigning for BBI yet its contents have not been put public saying she will only support it if it will bring funds to counties.
They, however, called on women across the country not just wait to be nominated but the contest for all elected since political seats are not given but fought.
They said elected women politicians also move around the country sensitizing women on the importance of vying for elective seats for their voices to be heard.
