Aston Villa has completed signing of Tanzania international Mbwana Samatta from Genk, for a fee of £10M on a four and half years contract according to BBC.
The former Genk striker caught the eyes of Villa manager due to his prowess upfront, having netted 76 goals in 191 appearances during his stint with the Belgian side.
The Daily Mail reported that Samatta will fill the void left by the injured Brazilian attacker, Wesley who will be out for a long period having injured his ligament.
"I'm really pleased we have managed to bring Mbwana to the club," Villa manager, Dean Smith said.
"He has scored goals throughout his career and I'm looking forward to working with him,"Dean added.
Samatta penned a 4-and-half years contract subject to work permit and permission of the international clearance according to the Daily Mail.
The 27 years-old is a former Simba fc player, having also play trade with the TP Mazembe, before moving to Genk in 2016.
The Taifa Stars captain, becomes the first Tanzanian player to play in the English Premier League (EPL); and is joined by Danny Drinkwater on loan from Chelsea and Pepe Reina from AS Roma.
