President Uhuru Kenyatta is among the notable attendees at Karigu-ini Primary School grounds in Murang'a County to attend the burial ceremony of the first Nairobi Mayor Charles Rubia.
The head of state joined other leaders from different parts of the nation to give Rubia a befitting sendoff. The head of state arrived with several government officials. The President received a warm reception upon arrival. His communication team confirmed his presence.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta arrives at Karigu-ini Primary School grounds in Murang'a County for the funeral service of the former Cabinet Minister Charles Wanyoike Rubia,” State House tweeted.
Uhuru had eulogized the late politician as a true patriot who stood against poor governance. The head of state said that the death of the politician is a big loss to the nation. Rubia died at the age of 96. Leaders from different parts of the nation have also mourned the death of the veteran leader.
