It is a big relief for residents of Balambala, Garissa County after County Executive Committee Member (CEC) in charge of roads Abdi Omar revealed that all roads that had previously been closed would be opened.
Speaking in Balambala on Thursday, the CEC stated that It was very disheartening to know that residents have been suffering in the impassable Balambala-Dunyere road.
As a matter of urgency, Omar said that the feeder roads in the area would soon be placed under construction.
In a statement after inspecting Balambala roads, Abdi said his team had assessed the situation and that action would be taken to make the roads passable.
"We are here today to address your concerns and I came with the entire team to assess the conditions of the roads, and we will immediately embark on the construction of these roads," the CEC said.
Omar was accompanied by roads Chief Officer Abdi Dekow among other high profile county officials.
