Deputy President William Ruto, just like any other politician will not be campaigning alone as he seeks to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House in 2022.
The former Eldoret North MP has been traversing the country, building alliances that he envisages will help him stage fierce campaigns that will propel him to the presidency.
And among leaders he may heavily rely on during the campaigns ahead of 2022 are a group of vocal Senators from Mt Kenya region who will be expected to convince their respective electorate to vote for the DP.
These Senators are those who have been at the forefront telling Kenyans to vote for the DP when 2022 comes.
They include Irungu Kang'ata (Murang'a), Prof Kindiki Kithure (Tharaka Nithi), Kimani Wamatang'i (Kiambu) and Njeru Ndwiga (Embu).
Also in the list is Daniel Karaba who represents Kirinyaga County at the Senate.
The five Senate representatives above have been on the lead calling on Kenyans to support Ruto's efforts to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022.
However, there are other Senators who support the DP albeit their voice on the ground has been minimally heard.
Kindiki is lobbying for the DP to become the president as he is being fronted to be Ruto's deputy.
