Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has weighed in on the ongoing saga that is the NCPB payment scandal.
Congratulating President Uhuru Kenyatta in a tweet on the bold stand that he has taken on the payments, Kabogo contended that friends of ministers are on the list of those engaged in the shady deals that have seen millions of shillings get lost.
"Mr. president the stand you’ve taken on the NSPB issue is bold. Ask Kenyans for information on who the tenderpreneurs are and you’ll be surprised; friends of ministers and their buddies including MPs and the list goes on and on," he tweeted.
Uhuru warned Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Kiunjuri against making payments to shady individuals.
Investigations found that well-connected individuals received millions of shillings for maize that was never delivered.
Kabogo's words come as the country reels from mind-blowing revelations of corruption in government involving billions of shillings.
