The brutal murder of Monica Kimani has brought back memories of the gruesome death of Moi University student Charity Maina.
Both ladies who were still in their youthful age were raped, strangled, killed and dumped.
The news of Charity Maina's death broke on a Sunday in 2015 after her lifeless body was found dumped near the school.
The third-year student in the School of Arts and Social Sciences had been raped and strangled to death before being dumped the previous night.
Monica Kimani also met a horrible death at her apartment in Kilimani. DNA analysis has confirmed that she was raped and strangled before being murdered.
There was also a sign of struggle between Kimani and Joseph Irungu who is currently the prime suspect in the murder of the 29-year-old business lady. She was later on dumped in the bathtub.
The circumstances surrounding the two murder cases may be different but the brutality involved in the death of the two young ladies is extremely conspicuous and evident.
Both murders are wake up calls to all the young ladies to be careful on how they conduct themselves, what time they should be in their house and the type of people they should associate themselves with.
