The video which was broadcasted live through Voice of Kenya (VOK), the only media station in Kenya back then.

"Kwa wananchi wote,  Mimi nataka kuwatangazia majina ya wananchi watukufu ambao watakuwa ministers kwa serikali yetu tukufu ambayo tunakwisha ianzisha na vile vile,  assistant ministers ambao wanafanya kazi chini yao" (To all citizens, I want to announce to you the names of dear Kenyans who will be ministers in our esteemed government as well as the assistant ministers who will be helping them) announced Mzee Kenyatta.

From the video here are some of the names that later become very powerful people in the country.

1. D. T Arap Moi -Vice President and home affairs

2.Mbiyu Koinange-Minister of state, the office of the president.

3.Mwai Kibaki -Minister of finance and planning.

4.Masinde Muliro-Minister of Works

5.Paul Ngei-Minister for local government

6.Charles Njonjo - Attorney General

7. Dr Zachariah Onyonka -Minister for Education

It can also be seen that the first president is struggling to pronounce the names of some assistant ministers,  many arguing that probably those names were literally forwarded to him without him necessarily knowing them.
