Iddi Mustapha, a suspect who brutally murdered Emma Wanyota; a student at Vera Beauty College was on Wednesday arraigned before an Eldoret court.
Mustapha who appeared before Eldoret Principal Magistrate Christine Menya is said to have killed Wanyotta on Monday at her home in Moi's Bridge.
"The suspect has been arraigned in court today but the prosecution asked the court to grant them 20 more days to complete its investigations," said the Menya.
"Court orders that the suspect be taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) for treatment after he complained of pain all over his body," she added.
Wanyota is alleged to have been brutally murdered by Mustapha at her home on Monday where one leg and hand were chopped off.
The deceased is reportedly said to have been in a relationship with the suspect some time back but they had ended the affair.
Police through the Soy Sub-County Police Commander Fanuel Nasio said they are continuing with investigations to unravel the main cause of her death.
The case will be mentioned on September 22, 2019, for the suspect to take a plea.
The body of the deceased was taken to Moi Teaching and Referal Hospital.
